Replacement engine for the TD5 in the Defender?

Anyone know when this is going to happen? I'd heard its a Ford 2.4l engine but with only 4 cylinders. If so what output will it have? Thanks

Expect to see Ford Transit engines in the Defender...with the usual off-road application modifications...

Thanks - do you have a view as to which version of that engine it will be (there's about four different outputs available) and whether it will be at the model year change due this summer?

Absolutely no idea I am afraid. Would suppose about a 120bhp version with Turbocharger and Intercooler...possibly the 3.0 V6 diesel as fitted to the rectangular greenhouse as a top-end option...
