Range Rover Insurance FFS.
Discussion
I'd guess not, I'm having a similar issue with insurance...
Got a quote for a Range Rover HSE Autobiography edition last year when I was looking around and it was somewhat reasonable, decided to get a Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE instead and assumed the prices were something similar, wrong! The Discovery is £250+ more expensive! 50% increase on the Range Rover and the insurance provider can't (or won't) tell me why. To top it off, they'd put me on a limited mileage policy of 6000miles p/a as well.

We recently took on a 2015 RRS and simply switched cars within our BeWiser policy from our previous Disco4. There's no mention of the Landrover In Control Secure Tracker, but I did state (when asked) that it had a manufacturers standard / fitted alarm, immobiliser and tracker system. They were OK with that and didn't ask for any more detail.
Ironically I had more of an issue with the 7-day drive away when I bought the damn thing. Dealer handed the phone to me to talk through the details while he went to get a coffee, and the nice lady on the phone asked whether it had a Land Rover blah blah blah or a Land Rover blah blah blah. That floored me as I had no idea and the sales guy hadn't told me. Insurance LAdy said without that information they couldn't insure me, and that was LR Insurance.

It depends on the value of the vehicle
I’ve got the standard RR one and it’s an absolute bag of sugar. Constantly droppIng off the network and RR having to reset it.
Essentially catagory 6 is the same standard as fleet tracking.
My last insurer wanted cat 5 so fitted a tracker branded one
Ironically Aviva don’t want one now as it’s value has dropped below the threshold

Thread bump. Today I was trying to insure my incoming 2015 RRS with Direct Line who I currently insure with. They require an S5 to S6 Thatcham approved alarm fitting. Contacted dealer (franchised) to see if it is fitted with one I can activate but not heard a sausage. Don’t collect car till Wednesday this week. What have others used/fitted?
