I know I've started a few threads recently, but the search has not always thorn up the answers!

I want to make the most of the MY17 InConnect system and notice that some features require active data connection. Have other people just bought something like a PAYG data-only SIM from Three for example, or is there a better option that people may have come across with experience.

Which features are you referring to?

I have a MY16 and the only reason to add a SIM is to provide a seperate in-car wifi facility. The InControl system must have its own built in SIM to provide location, security and other features to the app on my phone.

Some aspects of the InControl Touch Pro (such as commute learning) are marked as requiring a SIM and data plan.

The Touch Pro is only for the MY17 cars, so I believe you have the slightly earlier version. Unless I'm 100% mistaken!

Hi,

I have the system in my car (albeit in an XJ not a LR). I bought a 12gb data sim from 3 for £25 and it is using around 200mb a month for live traffic, internet search, news, weather etc. including playing with it as it's new. Looks like I will get months/years out of it. Getting a RRS soon with the same system (JLR employee) so will update if it uses anymore but it shouldn't as the same system. You can also set a monthly limit on the system so as not to use all the data in a morning! Mine is set at 250mb a month.

Cheers.
