I've just impulse purchased the above after a short test drive; low mileage (60k) and high spec (apparently), Harmon Kardon audio, xenons, premium sat nav, front and rear heated seats, TV function, adaptive cruise control, front and rear PDC amongst other things. Bluetooth being one of them...

It's immaculate, not a scratch on it and the interior looks brand new. I've had a mechanic look over it and it he suggested it was a bargain - 2 year warranty, 12 months AA and from a reputable dealer - I'm happy I've done OK.

I'm not convinced it actually has bluetooth. I'd like to think of myself as pretty tech savvy, and it was never a deal breaker if it didn't have BT, but I couldn't see anything...

IIRC the only factory options available for mine were TV and gangsta glass. Everything else you listed was standard. And a fridge......

Yup. However bluetooth in that era isn't very good. If memory serves you have to connect it every time (no auto connect) and it won't stream music either.

Good that you have bought one with a warranty. Chances are you will probably need it.

Worth getting the oil changed in the gear box straight away.

Nice car though and I'm jealous you have the TV. My car doesn't have a TV or a reversing camera. Always tempted to see if I can retrofit the camera kit, but its really expensive.

I own a 2007 L322 Range Rover which has bluetooth and that requires a code of 2121 for connection.

Yours may be the same. I know it's the same code for all RR's of that year, so maybe it's the same for the RRS, too?

There is an aftermarket replacement BT box available which allows one-time-only code entry and your phone contacts on the screen, but alas still no iPod connectivity.

For the latter, I use the Aux socket in the rear and a suitable lead connected to my phone's headphone socket. It's discreet and works well.

I recognise the 'Bodsy" name from various LR forums, he has a good rep

Mine only needed pairing once and would make/receive calls easily

Address books were a bit of a lottery however I could usually pull up my last dialled numbers on the LCD in the centre console from the cars controls without touching the phone

There is no music functionality however a cable into the 'Aux' socket by the rear fag lighter and arse warmer controls did the job

Enjoy the car, I miss mine......

It will have BlueTooth (2121 is the code) but as it's effectively a 10+ yr old BlueTooth implementation, you'll probably find the functionality limited by todays standards. In other words, it'll probably struggle with your iPhone!!

Personally, I just run an AUX cable.

I bloody hope I don't have to pair and put the code in each time! What a faff that would be. That said, it's not my daily drive and I never expected it to be anywhere near as functional as my Pro Media BMW. I'll also be annoyed if my iPhone doesn't work with it but I assume it's nothing a Parrot kit or similar can't sort.

After some more research (I haven't picked it up yet) it appears it SHOULD have Bluetooth as it was standard and it has the red and green phone buttons on the steering wheel.

It doesn't have a reversing camera but has TV, Nav, 'Gangster Glass' and a fridge.

I'm excited, biggest impulse purchase I've ever made, the hardest part was getting home and telling the wife - she didn't even know I'd been to see it biggrin

If you struggle with the BT, this is where I got my updated module from;

http://www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk/

Cured all the daft pairing issues immediately and was a breeze to fit.

As others have said, it won't stream music. I looked at the Parrot route but because of the amplifier set-up, it would have been a bit of a pain to fit. I ended up with a Dension Ice-Link which was hard wired into the aerial and had a cradle for my then iPod. That worked really well and assume it would today with the latest Apple adapter, fitted it to the dash with this bracket from Brodit.

Not perfect but it's all a bit old tech now I suppose!

Thanks for this, I've been on to Adrian from Bluetooth Exchange and I'm going to meet up with him and swap my bluetooth module.

Great stuff.

Next thing then is change the battery (unless you know it's been done recently). Like so many cars, super sensitive to voltage and will throw a head-fit if gets low, especially as the temperature now dropping.

Great machines though. Ran my first 2.7 Sport merrily to 120,000 miles, now have a 2011 3.0 and hoping to do the same again.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to do all the recommended preventative maintenance as soon as poss as it's going to be the workhorse and I plan on running it into the ground and I'd rather that was later rather than sooner.
