Range Rover Sport 2008 - suspension failure
Discussion
My RRS 2008 has just presented me with a red fault light stating suspension failure and to switch engine off. The thing is, it looks and drives perfectly well (2 miles back to girlfriend's house). I live 70 miles away but not sure if I should drive it back or not. Other forums say it's a sensor etc.
I'm keen to know or hear any suggestions as I know very little about Range Rovers. Thanks.

Worst case scenario is that it will dump all the air from the system and let itself down onto the bumpstops whereby you'll have an uncomfortable jiggly ride home. Your moobs won't thank you.
As for fixing the fault, this is one of those common times where plugging it in to the correct diagnostic system is the only real way to diagnose the problem.

try www.rrsport.co.uk and search on there, you will find loads of threads with a variety of solutions. Often just a £25 sensor failed that sets of a warning in one circuit, that affects another circuit and before you know it the car is telling you to take it to a dealer and open your wallet
I have had similar messages in the past and it was compressor cap on the air suspension...£30

Sometimes they will disappear if you turn the engine off and on again. If the light is on permanently, then that is a good thing, as hopefully it will be something like a ride height sensor and they are only £50 a corner. If its intermittent, it can be the wiring loom and that isn't so good.I'm keen to know or hear any suggestions as I know very little about Range Rovers. Thanks.
Compressors can be re-built these days and some garages prefer this as the Original compressors can be better than the aftermarket units.
