Freelander 2.5 auto reliability

Recently saw a good condition 60k miles 2.5 2001 Freelander for sale for around £1000 and am tempted to buy it.

However I've heard they are prone to problems including broken head gaskets which can be a lot to fix.

Would it be a bad purchase for that price ?

If it's tidy, then for £1k it's probably worth it.

HG can be an issue, but probably shouldn't be a deal breaker to an otherwise tidy and well priced car.
