Some opinions required.

Today I brushed against the side of another moving vehicle which resulted in my tyre pinching and subsequently deflating and scratches to bodywork including a small dent. I called the Land Rover Accident Roadside Assistance (car still under manufacturer's warranty) who recovered the car and took it to a local approved bodyshop. On speaking with the estimator we both concluded that the repairs required would not be something that would normally warrant an insurance claim. New tyre and spit and polish.

I've now since been landed with the invoice for the roadside assistance that I received!

I can't help but think that if I called land rover to report a puncture they would have recovered me free of charge. On reflection this is exactly what I should of done. Should me car warranty and assistance not cover the above?

I'm guessing that as you've decided not to pursue the damage as an insurance claim then the cost of the recovery isn't being met hence they've billed you direct.
Does seem a bit odd though that, as you say, if it were just a puncture they'd do it for free.

LR customer service listened to the recorded phonecall that was initially made when I requested roadside assistance. They have now agreed to pay the cost of the roadside assistance. I am impressed with how LR have dealt with this and ultimately resolved it in a timely fashion.
