Bought my defender at 6 months old around 6 months ago and should actually sell it at part ex for a bit more than I bought it for. I'm doing more mileage than I thought plus the 4 seats aren't that convenient. It will cost me around £20k to step up to the RR. I may want to take the RR off road on the occasional Salisbury plain trip (does the RR actually have recovery points?). Majority of its use will be on road doing 15K a year. Not sure I should do it.

I thought nearly new 90's were in serious demand at the moment, surely put it up for a good price (over the part x price) on autotrader and see if you can shift it privately.

This then puts you in a much better, cash in hand position for negotiations on the RR.

In answer to this bit, yes the RR does have more than adequate recovery points front and rear fitted from the factory. However, be aware that some aftermarket bodykits may cover them without the provision of a removable cut out for access.
