I understand that the dico sport is out and is a replacement for the freelander but is there a Disco 5 in the pipeline?

Yep. Believe it will be late next year (after the summer shut down is the norm I think) but not seen any details. I am pondering on a Disco now, maybe a deal on a new one if its a good enough deal.

I saw 3 or 4 Disco Sports around the M40 and M4 this last weekend.

Have to say it's a very nice looking car.

does look nice but we need the 3 proper seats in the 2nd row and alow would like the 3rd row of 2. Was thinking of the RRsport but price wise is ouch.

And you think the new disco will be cheaper?? Very much doubt it, the current D4 HSE is around the same price as the RRSport..

Equivalent is D4 HSE vs Sport HSE which is £55k vs £61k.. I doubt the new D5 when it comes out will be cheaper, hence give or take a few grand it will be the same...

Has the new RRSport got 7 seats then? Sure the one I looked at in the showroom a couple of months ago didn't.

It does but they are very small nothing like the disco, fine for short journeys or if you are very short smile

So long as you turn the music up to drown out the whinging, it's really not your problem. biggrin

Seems that most people are saying it's around 18 months away from now, but I've seen absolutely nothing in terms of spy pics etc., which is a bit odd. Maybe they're just very well disguised! hehe

The general consensus is that it'll use the aluminium monocoque from the L405 and L494, but I'm not too sure on the engine options. Maybe a diesel-electric hybrid is a possibility?! One thing is for sure, though - it'll be awesome off-road! biggrin

Have you had a look inside the new Disco sport, it comes with 7 seats as standard. We looked at one but found the interior to be a bit plain and a step down from the "Range Rover" products.

The interior point is true, but then its a Freelander replacement, and not a RR. As for the seats, yes it has 7 seats, but I (6'2") got in the back seats in the showroom, just (it was more difficult to get out again!) They really are only for little people, not adults. Its really a 5+2 in my opinion - hence why I am heading towards the Disco rather than the Disco Sport.

Has your head been in the sand? wink This was shown April last year on the back of an aircraft carrier in NYC. Strongly tipped to be the Discovery 5.

Disco 4 is relatively easy to replace and I recon the Discovery Vision concept looks pretty good. I can imagine they are probably panicking more about the Defender replacement...
