Hi guys,

Looking at specing up a new Defender for later in the year - are there any essential options you should get? Car will be used for family trips, and as a daily driver for a short commute.

Here's the spec so far:

110 XS Station Wagon
Metalic Santorini Black
Contrast Premium Leather - Ebony / Pimento
Under Ride Protection Bar
Privacy Glass
Subwoofer Mounted on Front Centre Compartment

Not sure on tow bar - I never tow anything, is it worth having just in case or to attach a bike rack to?

I think you may have missed the boat for new Defenders.

Similar to the spec I've ordered on a 90.

I've gone for a tow bar for house moves and bike rack and easier than having fit later on.

Also carpet! Otherwise comes bare although if you have kids and dogs probably much easier to clean.

5 weeks until mine is delivered! Very excited!

Also, make sure you get lots of dealer quotes. Some don't move at all!

I got 10% off through https://www.select-automotive.com//

Well worth a phone call to compare.

Agreed, just done a 1300 mile round trip to the Alps inc 1 leg of 4.5 hours without stopping and they were so comfy.

Dare I say it, more comfy than the seats in my old FF L322

I thought they still leak? That's why I've left as standard as the rubber matting will mean it's easier to clean and I can chuck stuff in to take to the tip in the back, without spoiling the carpet.

The contract leather only comes on the Premium Seats from looking at the options list I *think*.... is that correct or do you have to order a premium seat, then add the contrast leather as another additional option?

I test drove one with full leather today and it was very comfy imo. Would a full leather seat mean it had premium seats?

Yep, contrast leather comes with the Premium seats. I have ebony / pimento, looks good, so good choice.

Just to confirm, is the very effective Traction Control system now STANDARD across Defender's or would I have to pick that as an option? Thanks!

Have you used Select Automotive? Looking at them myself just wondering if they are trustworthy and if anyone's actually used them?

Cheers

I used them when I bought mine, Sean is very helpful and will go the extra mile in arranging everything for you.
