Has anyone swapped alloy wheels on a new car with TPMS ?

Why, does it ride to nicely at the moment?
You could always give the money to a charity if you have to much.
You are what it says on your tin arn't you fella? You could always give the money to a charity if you have to much.
Right - found my answer - the TPMS sensors can be swapped from my current wheels to the new ones without any issues

have heard of problems with the TPMS sensor being easily broken when changing tyres?Right - found my answer - the TPMS sensors can be swapped from my current wheels to the new ones without any issues
most people I know disable or remove the sensors as they seem more of a problem than they are worth - I did when I bought my L405
I have two sets of wheels for my RRS with TPMS.
The TPMS sensors un-bolt from the wheel and can be used on your new wheels - if there is room for it- a new set of 5 sensors for my off road wheels cost me €35 a couple of years ago.
After changing the wheels/sensors and driving for about 10 to 20km the system recognises the new sensors and the warning display goes away.
One that had an "incident" with a lump of metal laying on the road, no visible damage but it doesn't work any more.

Can you get sensors put in? Not overly expensive, I'd have thought.
I have been told that, on the L405, the sensors will register themselves as you drive around (other than the spare). I'm not sure how correct that is.
Yes, that is what I did to my set of 19" wheels, bought a complete set of 5 sensors and had them fitted when I put the mud terrain tyres on them.I have been told that, on the L405, the sensors will register themselves as you drive around (other than the spare). I'm not sure how correct that is.
Just drive about 10km to 20km and the system picks them up and as long as the pressure is ok then the warning goes out.
My Renault Laguna had tyre pressure sensors and they had to be fitted to a particular wheel. They displayed the actual pressure in each tyre individually, unlike the Ford system that is fitted to the Range Rover which just tells you to check your tyres but not which one.
TPMS system is notorious for throwing up false alerts.
I disabled it on my car. I know there are those who say that it's a valuable safety feature. My concern with the unreliability of the system and it's propensity for false alerts, and my wife was driving the car she would go into a blind panic!
The other issue is that they suffer badly from corrosion and have been known to snap off when filling with air, leaving you valve-less and having to fit the spare wheel.
Main dealers won't turn it off, but the IIDTool can do it.
