Hi - I'm a new Discovery II owner. In my first fortnight I've had a rear main light bulb go. Can anyone quickly tell me where access to this bulb is please and how easy it is to change. Many thanks - Simon.

It's a doddle. Look in the manual.
Unscrew light cover on outside, replace bulb, screw on cover.

Simple as that.

I'd consider buying a Disco II if only for that reason. Changing the brake light bulb on my Disco I took about an hour. Access is only from the inside, first you have to remove the 7th seat to get to the access panel, then remove an access panel, then undo two fasteners about 200 turns, pop the light cluster out the back, replace the bulb (10 seconds), refit the cluster (15 minutes of cursing with rubber seals), get the fasteners back on (15 minutes of cursing), do them up 200 turns in a space too small to get my hand, put the panel and seat back. All because some toerag designer didn't want two screwheads on the outside. Grrrrr.

Actually i think its cos they knicked the rear lights from the maestro van, where the back of the lights was easily accesable

Agreed. The Disco II must be one of the easiest cars to change a light bulb on.
Except I have lost the illumination behind one of the climate control adjuster switches and can’t seem to find a way to remove the panel to fit a replacement.
