Door locks on 2000 Range Rover

Hi,
can anyone help?
A colleague of mine's Range Rover (W plate 2000) has a passenger door he cannot open. The lock lever moves up but he can't open the door using either internal or external handle. I think something is disconnected inside the door, but how do you get the door card off if you can't get the door open?
Any help would be gratefully received.

If your a member, the AA or RAC may be able to help. Or failing that a locksmith.
I'm thinking primarily of someone who has one of those steel strips you slide down the glass to snag the lock mechanism.

You may have to destroy the inner door trim panel and replace it later from your local breakers.

Failing that you can borrow my tin opener.
