The wing mirrors on my 2003 RR are supposed to fold in at the touch of a button. Recently a problem has developed where the mirrors have started to move around loosely and the motors are hunting causing the mirrors to bounce in and out with an alarming thumping noise. Not a problem, just get them replaced under warranty, i hear you say. tried that but Stratstone's say won't replace as they must have been subjected to an impact (which they haven't), there are some minor scratches on the outside of the mirror casing, caused by using the car in the country, big car - narrow lanes, which is their justification.
Is this a common problem on the new RR or just my bad luck. I must say Stratstone's intransigence has left a bad taste in the mouth, their servicing department is totally incompetent, despite their sales team being second to none.

So a big enough impact to damage the mechanism but not big enough to damage the paint..? Whatever it's painted in i'll have 20 gallons of it. I don't see how they can justify that as they have no evidence to suggest that it has been impacted. Or are they saying that no Land Rover parts fail unless they have been clattered..? I'm afraid there are a lot of owners who know different.
I don't know how much a 2003 RR costs but I bet they're not bloody cheap. That is a disgrace it should be a warranty job.
How about taking your business elsewhere..?
