I'm thinking of getting a disco to use for work and for towing my boat/sleeping in when I sail away from home. Plus the lane down to work is getting terrible and shaking my clio apart!

I was looking at an Audi A4 Avant 2.5 tdi (180), but since the lane problem isn't going to go away, I thought about the Disco.

I've been looking at around 19k to spend on a td5, preferably one with the new shape headlights, with leather and an auto box.

Does anybody have or can point me to a list of the spec's for the various trim levels, e.g. es, xs, gs, g4 etc The LR website only has the new variations.

if you only need 2 and are registered you can get a brand new TD5 commercial for 19k plus vat..

mines got

mettalic paint
alloys
climate control
exterior pack
roof rails
rear air
remote control for rear suspension

No, not vat registered and I would need more seats when required to cart other people about.

Thanks for the heads up about the engine upgrade. I have read a little about it on here, but don't know too much about it. Is is an offical LR upgrade?

its kind of semi official, lots of the main dealers have it done or recommend it, and unoficially its the only conversion where l/r will honour the warranty

I bought a 99T XS Td5 for £10k, and it is great. You are looking for an ES spec car. I would suggest a Td5 ES auto, £19k should buy you pretty much anything you like. Don't discount an older or cheaper car - your ideal car should start at about £11k or £12k for a 99T. I borrowed a brand new demonstrator recently, and mine drove a lot better. It is very much a buyers market, if you are patient you will find a bargain.

Sorry, forgot to add:

ES - full leather, twin electric sunroofs, climate control, 18" alloys, harmon kardon stereo.

XS - half leather, twin manual sunroofs, climate control. Mine has 18" alloys and harmon kardon, not sure if these were standard or not.

7 seats better for resale but more expensive, auto more desirable too. Don't discount a manual 5 seat if it is a good price, spec, condition.
