Deja Vu.....

Sadly Katy I GB 254 has never been found so I have replaced her, with some difficulty there are only 357 of them, with Katy II GB 010.

Happines, balance, and order are now restored (the desire for retribution on a biblical scale does still however persist)

After a couple of weeks of taking things off and fitting things on she is now the same as the original with the exception of a stainless steel A bar rather than the black powder coat one on Katy I. And I have a rather nice Defender Black leather steering wheel rather than the standard grey leather one.

Katy II...

This is about a mile from home

Pictures of both my girls (should you be a bit sad like me) are here...

Graham,

Fortunately / unfortunately rather well depending whether you're buying or selling.

A private sale with around 40,000 miles will need about £13 - 15,000. A dealer vehicle, mint, with low ~20,000 miles will cost between £16 - 17,000. Most of the owners are real Land Rover fanatics and tend to look after them. I know one guy got one that had been fairly well modified for off roading for, I think, ~£10,500 - quite a good buy in my estimation.

They can be a bit difficult to get hold of as there aren't too many about. But as my local LR main dealer said, "That'll ollus bi w'th a lot a money!"

The Defender 50th guru is a chap called James, he has posted on here a couple of times under defender50th - what else. Now James is obsessed and is THE best source of advice if you are serious about buying one. I am not exagerating when I say that the inner wheel arches on his GB 002 are cleaner than the windscreen on my GB 010 - No seriously they are. No they really, really are!

If you want any buying advice or even to find one then either myself or I am sure James will be delighted to help.

Allan.

Allan,

Sad that Katy I was never found, but congrats on Katy II, lovely looking car, I've never been a fan of the stainless A-bar's but actually that doesn't look too bad.

And she's green....a proper Land Rover colour

Have fun with her

They all come in Atlantis Blue (apart from three that were made in black with black chequer plating). It depends what the light is like as it is a flip paint sometimes it looks green sometimes it looks blue and sometimes both!
