I'm just about to swap my 3.5 for a 4.6 and as part of the swap, I want to pop a new exhaust on it. I've found a stainless steel system complete with tubular manifold, but it's for a 3.5.
Can anyone advise if the fact that my engine is 1.1 litres bigger than the engine the exhaust is tuned for will have a detrimental affect on its performance?
Alternatively, can anyone suggest a supplier that offers tubular manifold exhaust systems for Land Rovers. I like the idea of sports stainless, but it's not essential.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Used such a system on a 4.6 V8 in a Bowler Tomcat 100 race car. We finished 9th in the French Tout terrain championship and won our class and group iun 2003 so - not a problem. Also too big a bore "header" will have a detrimental effect on torque at lower engine speeds. The racer had four into one "headers" and a 2.5" system from the "Y" piece to the exit. silencers were absoprion muffler type. The engine made arounf 200 to 240bhp on the rolling road at Cheltenham.
hope that helps,
Matt
