Seeing as someone has kindly destroyed my work car, i'm in search of a new one.
Settled on a disco as a perfect compromise between a defender and a RR.
Needs to be as cheap as pos and quick ish, well no slower than a 1.6 imprezza.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some info about the different engines etc. Seen v8s, 200, 300, 2.0 mpi and am getting a tad confused.

Apparently the 2.0 MPi is best avoided (unless really cheap) - performance worse than a diesel with the consumption of a petrol!
200 and 300 TDi probably not much difference between these, but in my opinion the later vehicles with 300 TDi look better (the earlier ones have Montego switchgear - yuk!!!).
V8 is quicker but no more torquey than TDi but has worse fuel consumption. Also there is twice as much of everything to go wrong, and 8 sparkplugs to service!
