Looking at one currently, at Guy Salmon Stratford.

Only seem to be able to get diesel new or ex-demonstrator ones. Maybe they don't do petrol any more.

Anyone got a diesel and what's it like to live with.

Are they unbearably slow and can they be chipped?

Going down the low tax route so must be pick-up or hard top. Need three seats for the kids hence the choice.

Have a look at these guys!

www.jjf.intercoolers.btinternet.co.uk/
i think i worked out that bang for buck - JF was the cheapest
www.twistedperformance.co.uk/
Have a look at the gale force defender reviews on the magazine articles section.

Not only will an uprated intercooler give you aprox 40% more power/torque but it should also better your fuel efficency.
Personally with a Td5 i would go for the JF intercooler with pipes, the uprated turbo from essex turbos, the exhaust, chip and disco transfer in high from twisted performance which should give you just over 215bhp and 300+Ib torque and sub 9 second 0-60!time
Alternatively, JE will do this....

JE ’SUPERSPORTS’ 5.0 Litre ‘complete engine’ conversion comprising:

5.0L short engine (as (7) above)
Sport cylinder heads & intake system (as (3) above)
A fully re-programmed engine ECU
This conversion delivers a power output of 265 bhp & 440 Nm torque.

Prices from only £2395 (exchange basis)

Seems a shame though to rip out a perfectly good engine unless you were to replace it with a HS 2.8Ltr TGV engine, which can be done through these guys
www.mdengineering.co.uk/category.php?c=n&p=category
The TGV is the replacement for the 300tdi but better than the TD5 with better low down power and not relying on all that engine diagnostic stuff.
Info to be found here:
www.landsend4x4.nl/HS%202_8%20liter%20TGV%20engines/hs%202_8%20liter%20tgv%20engines.html
Then stick in the intercooler!
I have no afilliation with any of the above blah blah ( not sure if i have to put that but he )

Thanks for that, will get in touch with them.

Wonder if it affects the warranty though.

Cheers
