Nothing more than a general wondering, but given they are the rarest of the P38 Range Rovers (only 10 made) and cost over £100k new, does anyone own one today?

I imagine they are all on the middle east/US, but would be nice to find one in the UK!

Nearly all went to the middle east or the U.S I remember sitting in one at the Earls Court motors how. Definetly a special place to be.

Here ya go! http://www.davidlinley.com/the-range-rover-linley

Here's some spiel about it:

Each Range Rover Linley will be built on the production line and then transferred to Land Rover’s on-site Special Vehicles facility for a further 100 hours of hand-finishing from craftsmen.

The piano black coachwork is achieved by hand-spraying with a solid black paint which is hand-polished to a mirror finish. To complement the coachwork the 18 inch multi-spoked alloy wheels have a unique ‘Shadow Chrome’ finish. To match the coachwork even the windows are polished with jeweller’s rouge to add that extra sparkle.

Classic isn't it. The most expensive car LR had made to date and it still has the same analogue clock from the classic in a position you can't quite see properly from a quick glance. He didn't drive it before he redesigned it did he.

That's cool to see! What state was it in when you got it, and how much work does it need? What needs doing?

Also, do you mind me asking how much you picked it up for? Interested to see if they retained any of their value! PM me if you prefer to keep the details more private smile

Great to see one being restored, IIRC they only made 6 of the original 10 planned, plus one has been written off in the USA.

One was for sale in the UK a couple of years ago, had a 5.0 Rover Developments engine in it from memory, and some aftermarket wheels. Think it was up for £20k, wish I'd found the money for it now!

Now resides in the Dunsfold collection, there was an article about it in one of the Land Rover magazines recently.

This is the only LHD LINLEY ever made. It was shipped to the USA and floated around with a number of owners. I found it while searching the internet at 4am one morning and bought it by 7am without ever physically touching or seeing it. I was able to get the VIN verified as the only LHD by the Dunsford collection in UK. There is no truth that this vehicle was a write off here in the USA, however, it was in an awful condition when I bought it...
I have posted a link to a Range Rover Forum site where I have described the rebuild process along with photos if you are interested in seeing the vehicle.

I know this is a very old post but I’m doing some research.

I know there is the one at the dunsfold collection. But there is also one sat at an independent Land Rover repairs next door to me. It is currently sat there rusting away.

Going to ask if he would sell it and for how much. It would be a shame for one of the 5 remaining to just rust away.

Hi Matt, how did your chat with the garage go? Did you buy it?

Hi Matt, how did your chat about the Linley go? Do you confirm it is a genuine one, and is the guy looking to sell? Drop me a message either way, would love to know more about it! 👍🏼
