Had my 1st stuck
Discussion
Had my 1st stuck last night, very red face affair.
I had just picked it up from a service and decided to take a short cut across some sand after stopping for a pint of milk. But I forgot that very hot weather (it was 43c) makes for soft sand. I got well stuck on a slight uphill section and had to call a mate to come and help, but his jeep could not get anywhere close to where I was. So we had to dig, let air out of the tires and stick rocks & bricks in the tracks. Eventually after much blood and sweat all was well and the landy drove straight out.
Worst of all it was all only about 100m from the shop so we had a good crowd watching the whole time. No help though.

Now the correct way of dealing with sand is to remove all the plugs, select low gear and turn the starting handle slowly! Then halfway up give it to a QARNS nurse to hold who will let go and it will roll back to the bottom of the hill again where upon you start all over again. There will be an ice cold carlsberg waiting for you in Alexandria..
Sorry just watched it and couldn't resist...
