building a fast road mini, straight cut gears, quickshift, lumpy cam, all that malark jester dont know what exhaust or suspension to fit, i like the sound of the 3" centre exit playmini, as for suspention though i dont know whats the best for fast road, i also plan to do sprints/ hillclimbs spin whats best? cheers

With all those 'nice bits' it would seem a pity to reduce tthe potential with what a good friend of mine calls a 'power-sapping, noise booster'.
Basically, an exhaust needs to carry the exhaust gases at an optimum speed at the revs where best power is given. For a Mini with your sort of modifications this really means a 1.75" internal diameter system frm the end of the exhaust manifold to the final exit point. For silencers, the Maniflow twin-box is really excellent, as is the RC40 twin-box system, although the Maniflow is probably better made.
A 3" exit really is too big for best power. I always wonder how the mskers can sell them as 'performance enhancing' as they are anything but and it really is mis-representation.

I always get mine from Mini Spares. Contact 'guru1071' on here as he runs Mini Spares North at Harrogate.
Just a single box is a bit too loud for a competition car where a noise test might apply, but it depends on what events you do. I've really not noticed any performance with 1 box or 2, so a twin-box RC40 system is probably best for you. The centre-exit is the configuration I prefer, but the choice is yours.
As for suspension, on my 1310 cc rally car with 10" wheels, I use 1.5 deg neg camber lower arms, adjustable tie-bars, SPAX dampers, slightly raised suspension height (it's a rally car, yours can be standard or slightly lower), standard rear sub-frame with rear set to about 0.5 deg neg camber and 1.5 mm toe-in. I used the same settings with 12" wheels on a later car I built for Endurance rallying.
I hope all this helps.
