1275 autos- to stick.....or twist?
Discussion
Now i understand that 1275 castings/auto blocks cannot be converted to manuel box's...... historically/reliably because of the oil pump..... did anyone see the japanese downton retro fit oil pump that chap had developed in mini mag? As castings are now finite, are the auto blocks now a viable option.... or worth collecting (£10/0 per block/engine stored could be £250/£1k in 5-10 years....).

are you not looking at that back to front?
i think that pump was designed to use a manual (cheap) pump in an auto engine, as auto oil pumps are very expensive.
you can use a auto block, but the machining cost are more than the cost of a manual block as stuff like the dipstick, oil filter mount etc also need to be sorted.
i think someone does a spacer to allow a maual pump to be used in an auto block, but in a manual set up
