Right a mate of mine phoned me up to say that he knows of a mini cooper that a guy wants to get rid of it. Its a 1998 mini cooper he has refused 800 quid and wants closer too £1000. The car needs 2 wings, both a panels and a door. Also the clutch pedal is solid and the car is in need for a bit of tlc but the inside is imaculate. What is insurance like for an 18 year old and what is the best places to get parts for it?
Also could a 6ft 4 guy like me drive them comftably ive sat in it but as it of the road ive no idea what it like to drive. Any advice would be welcome.

I'm 6'4 also and have a 1990 Mini Cooper. There are 2 mounting brackets on each seat which enable you to get the seats a bit further back, and there's still a reasonable amount of room. I can't drive it for more than about an hour without getting lower back pain, but as a weekend short-distance toy it's an absolute blast.

My Farther is 6'4" has has just got another mini. With the right setup (Parts easy to get) its not a problem. Most parts are easy to get there is a long list of supplyers such as mini spares, mini sport, A quick look on the web or get a copy of Mini magazen.

Have a good look at the car( floor inside the front arches inside the boot rear subframe etc). And get a good idea of what you will have to spend. Are you going to do the work your self?

I will be doing the work myself well and my father so thats not an issue. The underneath looks good from what i can see. But as the cars of the road cant drive it and dont know if i will be able to drive it comftably if not then i will restore it then sell it on, then again that was the plan for the mgb gt 2 years ago and we still got it. The oowner said the guy before him wanted it for parts which i would hate too see as its too good to scrap. Put pics up if i buy it.
