can you tow an auto?

hey guys need to move my 1275 automatic rover mini from somerset to swansea. my mate was going to tow it on an a frame. is it ok to tow an automatic? or will it have to go on a dolly so the front wheels are off the floor?

Towing any automatic is NOT recommended.

The AP box fitted to your Mini is NOT the strongest in any event.

I would recommend trailering the car or running the front wheels on a dolly so that the transmission is not compromised.

right ok il hire a trailer. didnt know if it was ok if its in neutral..

Remove the halfshafts (leave only the outter CV/shaft) and You can tow it - if the car transporter is overly expensive.
