Hey, guys!

On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult is is to attach panels to a car? Got the chance of a mini that require 2 front wings and 2 A-panels, i've priced parts at under £100 and no someone at a bodyshop for painting etc.....

A panels a bit harder but the hard part is welding. I dont find that it is to hard but some people find it easy and some never get on with it. If you are happy with welding the rest I would say is just taking your time and looking in to it properly (were to put the welds and how the panels fit etc). Good luck

Not sure if the front wings are welded or bolted on!

mm not sure, i think the hardest bit will be trying to clamp the front wing to the front panel with the indicators on

roughly

a car that needs wings and a panels will need about £1500 of panels / work / paint to make it right.

if if needs wings/a panels 99% it will need other work doing as well

it would require a small spot of welding on the o/s on the bulkhead?? The guy tells me its worth £1500 in present condition, IE minus the above mentioned panels

Guru is right. If a Mini needs new wings, it will need new front panel, sills, floors, boot floor, door skins etc - most of them, if not all. The work can be done at home, but it is a major effort. Panel beating is a profession...
If You would like to cut the costs, do the paintjob at home and better leave the panelwork for a pro. Painting is easier.

normally i'd take that as sound advice, but i've been round the car and bar the bit of welding required it seems sound, the guy who runs the place says the body is maybe 6/7 out of 10 as opposed to the usual 2/3 out of 10 he usually see's. A guy traded the car in and he's just looking to sell it on for the £

Remove the carpet from the rear "pocket" bins next to the rear seat. 5 mins and will tell the story.
May also good to closely check the boot at the area where the floor meets the rear valance.

There are always exceptions of course.

to be fair to the seller, if its got some tax and test then 1500 for a 'doer-upper' is about right.

the prices of minis is going up and up, and you dont get a lot for 1000-1500, anything less is normally either a heart breaker or just a plain breaker!

every so often you will find a gem, but its getting rare now
