Which Mini club?

Hi all,

Going to view a 1275GT at the weekend and all being well I shall be back in Mini ownership. I have just rung for some insurance quotes and the saving I'll make by being a member of a Mini owners' club will pay for the membership itself. So the question is, which club will suit me best? Any suggestions or recommendations much appreciated.

I'm not bothered about regular local evening meets, I have a young family so not practical really, I'm more interested in sharing knowledge. I have considered the Mini Cooper Register, although the GT is not a Cooper it is a 10" model so has a few S bits and the people on the forum seem very knowledgeable. I'm not sure about the British Mini Club as my anti-virus software does not like their website!

Little bit biased as I helped to set it up, but have a look on The Mini Forum (www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums), at becoming a TMF+ member. Only £5 and it'll get you a discount with a couple of insurance companies, Mini Spares and a few other companies.

+1 for TMF, it was very useful when I first started driving and had a Mini. Sadly only used it for 6 months, but I gained a lot of knowledge. Going to re-register or at least rediscover my old account on there over the summer as I begin to mess about with it again.

The forum on there was really good.

thanks for the replies. I checked out the Mini Forum as suggested. I like the fact it concentrates on real Minis as I can't stand the BMW imposters! I'll have to check with my insurance company if that's an acceptable club.
