...does everyone have people point and smile as they drive past? (I have checked and I don't have a bogey hanging out my nose! )

Was kinda used to it in the Chimaera as people do not see that many, but the Mini attracts so much attention! People always smile! It is very cool!

PS In case you hadn't gathered, 1 week into ownership and I love it! The Chimarea is such a beast after the Mini though! Judas is using it as his daily driver so it is not being neglected!

As long as it's just smiling and not

Someone at work has one of the new minis and I have caught myself on the odd ocassion peering in the window, like you do .
They look very tardis like, seems to me there's a fair bit of room in there, am I wrong ?

Anyway as long as your enjoying it, that's what counts....

I did have a BMW MINI but I swapped it for my Chimaera and they are very roomy and comfy in the front but the back has bugger all room. The Mini I am speaking about now however is my new (to me) P reg Mini Equinox in silver with 30 k on the clock and in mint condition!

I guess I should update my profile! I'll do that now!

it's gotta be one of the best bits about owning a mini. mine sounds like an air raid (1310 race engine and straight cut 'box, every home should have one) so there are always plenty of people turning round to see what's making the noise, smiling when they see it's a mini then performing a full double take when they realise it's a pickup.

i'm just never gonna get bored of that!

sat in a new mini at the motor show and it's amazing how much space there is inside. even got a fair bit of character in there too, those toggle switches really look spot on.

I don't think they are very tardis-like at all. In fact I'd say interior space is well below par compared to other simmilar cars. Front leg room is fine, but if you are remotely tall the front seats will be virtualy touching the rear seats, making things a little unpleasant for rear passengers.

The boot is also MINIscule

On the tardis point.

We could fit the pram in the boot of the proper Mini but oddly had trouble in the MINI.

Go figure...

It's the z-axle rear suspension, which BMW insisted on - takes up a lot more space than a torsion beam would, hence less boot space.
