Could be the starter switch, or the starter solenoid, or an earth, or the battery connections.
You need to work through the wiring with a circuit tester of voltmeter to see where the urrent is failing to flow, or to isolate the problem to the starter solenoid.

If your car has a pre-engaged starter, it could be the relay situated on the bulkhead, near the wiper motor.

Duff battery also, just because you've got lights doesn't mean the battery is charged enough. Measure the voltage across the battery, typically less than 12V and it won't crank, less than 11v and the battery is definitely shot. Fully charged it will read around 12.5v.

Secondly, get a mate to help you and a mallet, either you or the mate try and crank the engine, the other whack the starter motor with the mallet while they are trying to crank the engine.

If the solenoid is sticking this will 9/10 get you running. If the starter motor is knackered then it won't
