I've always wanted a mini, I was going to get one as my first car, but after going to see one, and finding that I couldn't easily get in it and drive it, I moved away from that idea.

However, I'm now after a mini again.

Can I ask, how tall are you?
biggrin

I'm just over 6ft, does anyone else this sort of height have issues with minis? And if so how did you fix it? (without resorting to chopping my legs off, biggrin ).

Go for an older mini with a simplier interior. It will leave much more space for You. I have a mate who is above 6.5 feet and 120+kgs and still using a mini as an everyday car (he is a security guard by the way) smile.

I'm just short of 6' but I hated driving minis, with my knees spread either side of the steering wheel.

I'm 6'4", not had a problem - OK sometimes a bit difficult getting in/out in a tight space, but loads of room when driving - both in my old Mayfair and the 2000 (Y Plate) Cooper my brother had...

A bit more difficult climbing in and out of mine with the Rollcage in, but still not a big deal.

I should be alright climbing in and out as I've learnt how to do it in my dads TVRs, biggrin, which the old 1600M is also lacking in interior room.

I would assume that if aftermarket seats/bucketseats were fitted then the runners could be screwed in further back giving more leg room.

Thanks for the info.

Got to wait till jan next year before I can get one. Suppose best method is just to try and sit in as many as possible.

I've had two different navigators rally with me in my Cooper 'S' and both were 6ft4in. There was no problem at all. I'm 6ft and have never had a problem. The Mini is quite a tall car inside really as the floor is quite low. With standard seats you do need seat adjuster brackets to move it far enough back, but that's an easy job to do.

I'm 6'3" and have no problems. Moved the seats back and dropped the column with easily avaialble adjusting brackets and me and 3 cats swing around....no problem.

Iam 6' and my farther 6'4" both had minis. As pointed the brackets for the steering and seat help a lot and are easy to get and fit.

Steering Drop Bracket and decent set of seats mounted accordingly. Why deny yourself one of lifes simple pleasures just through being a big f*cker, Eh? hehe

Yeah, I decided against it as a first car so as I coul learn in a car that I could fit in properly etc. But now the insurance is much cheaper and I've got a bit more money I'm after one, biggrin, and I'm getting bored of my fiesta.
It was going to be a TVR, but the insurance is still too much.
