Hi there, I'm have 20mm wheel spacers with extended studs on my mini.
On the rear drums the 2 bolts with countersunk heads that hold the drum part of the brake to the hub are missing.(on both rear wheels)
I went online to get some replacements but they say only to be used ''without'' spacers.

So does this mean if I have spacers I just dont fit them?

I doubt they really matter as the wheel nuts hold it all in place once the wheel is on anyway??????

I'm assuming you have the standard rear brake drums (ie. without the in-built spacer as fitted to 'S' and 1275GT) so you do need the two countersunk screws approx 10mm long to securely fix drum to hub. You are right that the drum is also located by the wheel and nuts but it does prevent the drum flapping in the breeze when you take the wheel off.The spacer will sit over these screws, flat on the drum.
Also assume you mean LONGER studs and not the horrible screw-on extended (making two piece) studs that you could once buy.

ok i guess it just meant the screws werent for the s type hubs. yes they are standard type hubs I have fitted, so i will order some countersunk screws to be on the safe side.
And yes I have the proper longer studs as I will be using the car for hillclimbing and trackdays when its done and
I do value my life ! laugh

I never use those small countersunk srews that hold the drums on. They do virtually nothing except rust in and become hard to remove.
A 20 mm spaer is quite wide, so you'll need some long studs and to fit them you will have to pull the hubs off. IMHO wheels with a different offset are much preferable to spacers. If running 'S' or similar drums with built-in 1" spacer there should really be no need for additional spacing or the rear track may become too wide and spoil the handling.
