The towbar that I have has two fixing bolts under rear seat,two bolts in spare wheel well,and 3 smaller bolts through flange under rear bumper

I didn't think later model mini's particularly MPI's were SVA'd for towing....? Technically you are towing unlawfully if stopped by the old bill. Thankfully more owners than PC's are aware of this...lol

you can with an mpi ,up to 1998 s reg, i am looking to tow with mine 1996
so will be ok

Yes I am aware about the dates ,but as you say pc will not have a clue,40 has now sold so will have to put the towbar on another car
