lookin to have 1 fitted want the type where you only see the end of the ball
any places do you know or photos of your tow bars
some look messy

Can't see why they should be illegal so long as they are fitted properly. The trailer weight will be limited, of course, but lots of Minis have them for touring and they seeem to work fine. A while ago there was a guy who used to mtow his autocross Mini to events on a 2-wheel trailer behind his road Cooper 'S'. Maybe the regs have changed since then.

After some googling, it would appear that minis built after 1998 can not have a tow bar.

But they didn't make many after 1998, so it will only be a problem for a few. Not that this helps the few.
