As an everyday car?
Discussion
I'm actually going the other way, replacing my 93 Mayfair with an MX-5 as a daily driver. Used it for 9 years, and on the whole its been pretty reliable, but has cost a fair bit, mainly bodywork. Had 19k when I bought it, now up to 62k. I'll miss it, in fact i'll probably cry when it drives off up my street, but time for a change.
I use mine everyday including a commute and i have to say that although i love my mini, its a pig for commuting in slow traffic. A standard spi will be better than my stage 2 setup but a commute is still nicer in a modern car.
Outwith commuting its a great car to own and has made me smile more than my Mr2 Turbo/FTO/golf GTI ever could. I also own a MX5 and i think you'll like the transition.
