Through ill-health, my father's next-door-neighbours are planning to sell both their cars and replace with one. One's a Mondeo, but the other is.......a one-owner Mini automatic, alleged to have approximately 10k miles on it from new. It goes to the local Tesco once a week and that's it. Dad thinks it's D reg, making it a 1986 I guess (I doubt it's a 1966 D!).

If it's a good/original/low mileage as he thinks, is it worth much? Don't know the spec but it won't be anything saucy, and is, as mentioned, auto anyway. Is it worth having - or is it worth having to sell on? Dad has advised him not to wheel it down to the local Hatch-o-Mart and include it in the Mondeo deal, but equally someone else has told the guy it's worth £4k, which sounds a bit rich to me although that's only a guess on my part.

The condition is key. No rust show room condition and £4K sounds ok. Rust every were and its in the £100's.

Just been told that the owner did indeed trade it alongside his Mondeo, but got a respectable £2300 for it in a joint px with the Mondeo against a new car. The owner is an OAP with serious health issues so I think that for him, that was a reasonable price in return for no further issues with trying to sell the car.
