vtec conversion wiring
Discussion
ok so im three quarters of the way through stripping my 1990 studio2 ready to start the vtec conversion. ordering the kit this week from Zcars ...
iv never attempted anything like this before but after watching the DVD a number of times i am fairly confident i can handle it.
the only thing im worried about is the wiring side of things ( electrics is not my strong point ) . i planned on ripping all the wiring out of my mini as it is in a right mess as over the years the wiring has been chopped and changed and now is just a mass of wires.
so i wanted to rip it all out and star a fresh with the new kit as im guessing most of it will be useless once the new engine is fitted?
zcars offer a wiring loom but will this be of use to me as my current engine is a carb set up and not injection so obviously i dont have a current ECU.
i dont have an ignition key either as i fitted a push start panel and kill switch last summer (it looks very cool hidden away in the glovebox ) and i would like to keep this with the new engine. will this be tricky?
any help woud be great
cheers
