narrow alloys and wheels needed.
Discussion
Hey there, I currently have 13' deep dish alloy on my 1994 mini copper but although I've had the arches modified the wheels are still a little too big! I'm looking for some narrow 12" wheels to fit instead so that I don't have problems on full lock. If anyone can help out, I'm in Bournemouth but will travel and pay well for the right set. Also, (and I know this sounds a bit chavvy) if they happen to be gold alloys I'd be even happier as my mini is a beautiful cadburys purple.
Thanks again

They grind on full lock, on the top inner corner of the wheel...
The problem is that I have gone though two steering columns and two steering rack in the last couple of months, due to the teeth on the join grinding away.
The guy at my local garage says that is because the tyres are rubbing when i turn?? but i'm not sure if thats right.
I've seen other mini's with bigger tyres than me...?!
thanks Gem

Just mailed you, I have a very good set of 5 wheels, 12"x5" performance mini lites, with wheel nuts and locking nuts, which I am taking off my sons Cooper today. They were re-furbed about a year ago. No tyres though. If your interested, drop me a mail, I live in Salisbury. Will stick them on ebay later this week
if you take the rack off the car you can simply peel the boots back and mig-weld the last two teeth up on the rack bar - this is how rover did it!
you can buy proper nylon 'lock stops' from kad that clip around the rack bar.

or, if you are really cheap, you can simply use a jubaliee clip at each end - not pretty but it works by preventing the pinion from going past a certain point
