Advice on Selling a Min?
Discussion
What experinces have you had with selling highly modded Minis?
I cant help thinking that my car is worth more in bits than as a complete car, but i would be loath to brake it. The shell was rebuilt around 5 years ago and resprayed in 2 pack and its been stored in the winter. Slark engine with sc box, 296 cam and webber. So its fairly rust free and goes like stink, but its just a toy for track days, weekend blasts and hillclimbs. It looks like a miglia with curley arches, MB split rims and plastered in decals.
Its noisey, leeks when it rains, theres no heater, a roll cage, only 2 seats, so totally impractical. I totally love this car to bits and have built it to suit what i want but as i dont have a garage its always been a pain to own, having to find storage etc. And i just dont get to drive it very much, so during the summer its just sat on the street costing me money and not getting much use.
So, would i regret getting rid? Is it a waste of time trying to sell it complete or is there agood market for this type of car? Should i split it?
Just thinking out loud really, and partly because i'd normally have this conversation with my best buddy, incidenlty who's garage its currently deposited in, but hes got him self a new girlfriend so cant get any sense out of him.

Sounds like my old mini. It did take some time to go but I got just under £4000. There is a market for this type of car but it moves slowly. The conditon of the car and paper work ( roling road print out, build bills, how did the work etc) all make a diffrance on how easy it is to get a good price.
I some times wish the car was still mine. But life moves on and I hope to start a new mini project one day.

Get off the computer and go for a whazz in it.
If you think "this is great". Keep it, love it.
If you're indifferent, flog it. Sell it as a unit on ebay and get top dollar. Things are going pretty silly at the moment. Otherwise you'll get left with a load of odds and sods which is always a shame to see.

My mini is off the road at the moment awaiting restoration, and I miss driving it constantly. Don't sell yours, you'll regret it I'm sure. If its how you want it too, then its even less of a reason to sell.
Your circumstances could change, but if you sell the car, then its gone forever.
