Chaps, bought a nice low miles 1996 Mini. It has singlepoint fuel injection but the clutch has died, I suspect the slave cylinder is to blame. Looking on Ebay for a replacement but its not clear whether I need verto or pre verto? What would be fitted to a car of this year? Many thanks for a speedy answer!

Probably verto.

If the cylinder is at 45deg operating a 4" ih clutch arm, it's a verto.

If it's the long arm with the horizontal cylinder, it's probably a pre-verto.

That's without taking the wok off.

I'll agree, with the above. It is more than likely that you have a verto setup.

Here is the part you're after http://minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=3...

Give MiniSpares North a call on 01423881800, they'll sort you out. biggrin

Factory was verto unless its been converted.

Check the Clevis pins on the clutch lever arm as these tend to wear.

Thanks chaps. Verto slave ordered (sounds like something out of a sci fi film!) The car has done less than 16k from new with all the old MOTS, enjoying working on it but will enjoy selling even more!
