My R-reg Cooper S Works was stolen on Thursday 25-Mar-10 between 1900 and 2200 from Juer Street near the junction with Parkgate Road.

sorry to hear this but in response to the above post.... all you need is something flat like a screwdriver, its not even complicated if you know how to start a car....

It just vanished. Unfortunately, our "most surveilled country" title doesn't cover that street to we can marvelled at the skill of the lads.

If it was on street it is worth checking that it was not towed for a parking offence. You may think it was ok but parking wardens can do the strangest things. If it was driven away the police should be able to see at least the direction it went in, if they are willing to put the work in. I hope you find it good luke.

a flat screwdriver doesnt get past the ecu and the imobiliser though.

this is the problem with m.p.i's - there is a way to get past the alarm, imobiliser, keys etc etc, so no damage whatsoever is done to the car.

its happening more and more.

if its been taken in the way i suspect it only takes seconds to do it - as quick as you getting in and driving the car yourself.

did you see anyone hanging around the car two or three weeks ago?

it must have been lifted then, or broken into and the lock smashed off. and towed away

the only other way 'out the blue' would have involved 15 min work with the bonnet up to get it going

i think, as a previous poster suggested, ring and see if its been 'legally' removed

D'oh! Yes i am sorry your quite correct. I had an immobiliser on mine but it was just a resistor in a key fob. Are these stolen to order for a oriental market then?

Rarer than rare... How many other JCW originated S Works with JN 5-speed with quickshift still around? Nevermind the 001 plate.
