Hi I've been a forum memeber for a while but always just looked around but as my project is coming together abit quicker now I thought i'd post up some pictures and info.
I've been doing the conversion for a while now on and off using a shell I bought about five years ago. now a few week ago I was given a shell in better condition which was a kick up the arse and the decicion was made to get it finished.

Small bulkhead mod for manifold clearance

Then the frame from my prievous shell was fitted in along with the engine from a mgzr 160

Good thing is the manifold did clear but clearancewith the frame and tyre is a bit close on full travel

And just to show that its a bit tight but all fits in a standard length round nose

And some other goodies i've got for it
7.5" original cooper setup with the calipers painted in the VHT crinkle paint
Mintex M1144 pads and goodridge hoses.

Protech coilovers for all front and rear

And finally my 10"x6" wheels i've been refurbing aswell
These will be wrapped in some fine yoko A032R which i've got sitting in the loft aswell.

Hope theres not to many pictures there if there is let me know and i'll remove some.

Looking good. Just one idear there is more mass and power so if it was me I would go got 4 pot bracks. Metro turbo or if you have the money new ones. You will see much better bracking. I have done the same swop of bracks on my 1275GT mini.

That should be an impressively quick mini. There is a 1.6K engined Clubman at some of the local rally stages that absolutely flies, regularly embarrassing some very expensive cars.

Is there a decent amount of sump clearance? (did you chop it down at all?) Do you have any pics of the frame prior to fitting the engine?

Wicked.

Out of interest, what length are the driveshafts?

Four pot brakes would be nice but unfortunatly won't fit under the 10" rims.
Not totaly sorted the exhaust yet might be getting a custom manifold made but i'll see what funds are left after the paintings done. I'll have a quick look for the frame picture see what i've got.
As for drive shafts lenths one got about 2" between the cv boots and the other is alot longer.

Had a look and havn't got a picture of the frame in its current state. Only bare ones i have have had to alter the frame since for clearance reasons so heres some more with the engine in but you can see the frame a bit better

Still got to add some triangulation plates around the frame yet to strenthen things up.

close up of my tie bar mounts almost ready for final welding after another gusset added to the underside.

Cheers i do know they exist but i've got to watch the width aswell as trying to keep the car archless and vented do push the wheels outwards. once its on the road I'm gonna have a look into it better then. Maybe even look into some custom suspention geometry with the bigger brakes.

the alloy four pot calipers dont alter the width - they use std s flanges and discs.

a set of them and carbon mettalic pads will be cabable of provide 'a good stopping experience'!!!
