I got my car done for £600 week end job on the side (they worked at the place and had the ok from the boss for the odd week end job). So I would take that as a minimum but I would say if you went to a good s/shop they would be looking for about £1000 - £1500. Get some recomendations then phone around.

The paint won't be cheap, but I would think about £1200 for the labour, plus a bit for blending the bdykit into the basi shell, plus the ost of the paint. The sprayer will need a professional spray booth to paint that colour. It's not something you can do yourself in cellulose.

thanks for your thoughts guys.. im thinkin about that colour and thinkin it probably will be very expensive.. other suggestions were silver or the mini blue to suit the zeemax kit.

Whilst metallic finishes do look good, they can be a disadvantage on a Mini if rust develops as you can't then do all the repair yourself. My Cooper 'S' and my Innocenti are both 'solid' colours so I can paint them to a high quality finish myself in cellulose. However, my Grandson has just acquired a 1997 MPI whih will need painting after we complete the body re-build and as it's metallic dark green it will need to go to my buddy who is a professional painter and we'll pay for this to be done. Any slight damage or developing rust to that car will result in other visits to the professional paint shop.

Cooperman is spot on, plus being a clubby it suits solid colours. If the body is sound and has absolutely no blemishes, and the bodykit is blended in well, go black or very dark blue (black is worst for disguising small dents etc, white is best)

Both my Mini's have been solid colours.

I love the fact that you're working on an old clubman, and all credit to you. Everyone has replied to you in readable English, using text speak just makes your posts difficult to read. Full marks for daring to be different with the car choice though.

I can only echo the recomendations for a solid colour.

My clubby has been painted denim blue and after I have finished the welding its going a solid colour, possibly old english white.

We charge 1500 plus vat for a full repaint depending if any welding is needed as there normally is with mini's we are just doing a de seamed mini for a magazine shoot in tangerine orange candy.
