What Shock Absorbers?
Discussion
Hi guys,
What shock absorbers do you all use on your minis?
I currently have standard unipart items, which have seen better days. The Mini has genuine Hi-Lo suspension front and back, thus the car is lowered. I have new genuine Dunlop cones for the front and will be purchasing some for the back also.
I have been looking at these GAZ 'Lowered Height' shocks on MiniSpares;
Fronts; (C-STN236)

Rears; (C-STN237)

However there are also the Spax Adjustables for 'Lowered Height';
Fronts; (C-STR304)

Rears; (C-STR305)

They are both in the same price bracket/range. What is the screwdriver adjustment like?
Pro's and Con's please!

Do you need adjustables ?? How often do you perceive you'll need to adjust them ??
If you don't need to adjust I can recommend the Kayaba "Gas-ajusts" from MiniSpares. I've had them on my red cooper for a long while now, with 13" rims and metro vented brakes and they are great. Previously the car had a 1380 in it and the dampers were fine with the extra power and extra weight of the wheels/brakes etc even on track days.
