Right.

Besides Flux, who is bloody good insurance wise for modded (60's) minis.

I got a quote of Flux the other day and it has gone up somewhat from a few years ago, whereas the engine has gone from a 1340 to a 1430. It's a weekend blaster not a day car.

It was £135 and now is a tad over £250. Whilst I know this is pennies, all I'm really looking for is.

3rd party cover
Get the option to keep it if I want to.
A piece of paper to show the police and an entry on the "got insurance" database.

I'm 33 and it's a nice car that is hardly used. Since it was £135, I'm looking to get closer to that figure. smile

I'll stomach £250, but it's a lot of money for the odd burn around on the weekend. Yes, the latter is also a limited (3000) milage job.

Fire away.... smile

my 1071 road car is insured with lancaster, has been for years - costs (fully comp with mods declared) about 200 quid

a load of my fleet are also insured on a group policy with RH - about 150 for five cars ranging from my historic racer to a cheap mk1. again, fully comp.

I'll see what they come up with and bear the small print in mind heavily before anything.

Moneysupermarket.com came up with (all mods declared) fully comp.

1. Sureterm Direct £84
2. £165
3. £172

I'll update as and when smile

Performance Direct. £320 something.

Lancaster need a call, which I'll do in due course.

Modified car - Online insurance = Near certain disaster.

Don't do it, get on the blower and sort it. I have worked in the industry for a few years and the internet just can't be trusted all the time when it comes to modifications. I'm not saying it will be wrong, but you seem to by quite rigorous when it comes to checking details by what you stated above.

And cheapest isn't always best, especally when it concerns you're pride and joy.

Maybe try Footman James or Premium Choice if it is a 2nd vehicle.

Footman James, very very good. Never any problems and they gave me free cover to move my car when I moved house,
