HELP! I was advised by the people building my Engine to fit Twin HS6's.It's a 1293 SW5 10.5:1 CR Stage 5 Head. The trouble is they are having problems getting it set up right! The first run of the car on the road was a total wash out, misfires and flat spots the size of Japan!

Has anyone ever used or is using Twin HS6's on their car? Can it be done?

I get the funny feeling i should have stuck with twin HS4's

I've seen and heard a short-stroke 1299 (Mmmmmm, nice!!) with a 286 or 649 (can't remember which) with twin HS6's. It should be entirely possible to get your carbs set-up correctly, but I would suggest the carbs are too big for the cam. I'm running twin HS4's on a 1380 with a 276 and high lift rockers, and it's ok on carburation.

I had a 1293 'S' with a Longman head, 10.6 to 1 C.R., 544 cam, lcb, etc and I used twin 1.75" HS 6's off a Dolomite Sprint. Once set up properly on a rolling road it was very good and gave smooth power from about 2500 up to 6500. i use twin H4's now, but I have a pair of HS6's and I'm thinking of trying them on a test engine I'm intending to build this year.
I think it's just settings you need to get right then they'll be great.
I hope this helps.
