Hey guys, I need some advice for the colour of my next car. Boyfriend wants to go orange, but I've said that this will devalue it and make it less sellable later on. Am I right, or is there a demand for garish coloured mini's?!?!?!!?

I am that boyfriend, Thanks for agreeing with me!
Bright Pastel Orange with black interior... this mini is going to be a 1380cc mpi with sporty body kit, carbon fibre front end and 7x13 wheels, with yoko tyres, Weber carb and its a 1967 plate so strait though exhaust... No TAX.... so I'll be a mini shaped Orange Blurrrrrrr........

If its looks go for 13" if its not go 12" or 10" it will be much nicer to drive.

"It's '67 plate so straight through exhaust"?

Is there any weight in this statement?

My 310 cammed 1430 would probably benefit from this, however, I think I would last about 2 miles before getting pulled.....assuming they heard the exhaust over the intakes/gears.... smile

If it's your car, why does it sound like your boyfriend is making it his car? Do what YOU want! I suggest something like this:

Its going to be my car eventually, my girlfriend is getting my beautiful (purple) finished project, its a 1994 so lots more reliable, she has been driving a 998cc for the last year, she wants more power...

12'' would be better, 10''s better still, but 13'' is what the car came with so... maybe in the future ?

Re- exhausts, the way i have been explained it is, if the car had no catalytic converter on it originally then it doesn't have to have one now??
I have nothing to support this just word of mouth.... please let me know if this isn't the case?!

Ps love the Pink mini... maybe the next project (one for the lady's?!?!?)

That is correct. When you said straight through exhaust, I thought of a straight pipe a la 60's racer. My old 1275 had a pretty much straight through system and it was very loud. Mind your hearing!

Strangly the CAT is down to the age of the engine not the car. Most MOT places just check the age of the car on the owners paper work.
