Hey, Has anyone got any old hydrolastic suspension pipes going spare that i could buy? as i'm currently restoring my mk2 mini 1000. I don't mind a bit of surface corrosion, just as long as they're solid. cheers, Chris smile

you can buy new metal ones for not much money.

old secondhand ones tend to be knackered, and (speaking from experience) theres nothing worse than fitting a pair of what look to be excellent secondhand ones to a car, then stripping both frames back out about 6 weeks later when one goes porous!!!!

id never ever use a pair of old ones unless id pressure checked them off the car first!

This is the stuff to use: https://www.plminishop.com/view_product.php?produc...

Unless you are going for originality. You can also just make up the pipes with copper tubing and appropriate fittings from the plumbing aisle at your local home store. Either one will last longer than grotty old steel ones.

chris

might be cheap to make them from copper gas pipe your self, but how are you going to bend it without kinking it?, also, dont forget that the ends are flared where they butt up to the steel end parts, your gonna need to find someone who can replicate the flares - the flare is far bigger than the sort that comes in brake pipe making kits.

id still say the after market kunifer ones that are pre bent, pre flared are the way to go.......
