I think its about time I get something a bit more reliable as my everyday car, it’s great fun but time to change. After driving around over Christmas in Minigirl’s new MINI (and my old one breaking down on Boxing day) it showed me I could do with something a bit more modern. Thinking about a cheapy Honda Civic 16v, I’ll still have a few minis in the garage to play with but also going to clear a lot of stuff out as well.

I’d love a new one but there’s no point in Jane and I both having the same car and it would mean selling the Griff which I don’t really want to do yet, although I did test drive a T350 at the weekend

Also toying with idea on what to do with the clubby, still I won’t be Miniless

Yeah, I’m sure it won’t be too long.

So do you want to buy a Mini?

Depends how you want it, was going to get 2 new doors sprayed and fitted and put some better condition 13’s and then I’ll probably take around £1500, with out that a bit less.

Doe's she like Mini's?

A civic is a good idea as a reliable daily car. I have a 5 door one and a mini. The mini has so far proved to be reasonable reliable, but the civic is such a nice car to drive and is very good as fitting spare mini parts in its boot.

Depending how much you want to spend, it is also worth considering something like the later preludes. They are just as reliable as the civic, but have a good bit more power. They can be got for around 4.5k these days. The usual Honda-engined-mini-donor car otherwise known as the CRX is also worth a look.

I do like the idea of a Honda, but it will be a older one for around £1500, still had a great drive last night with another mini, its got me thinking twice about selling now

Maybe

I would prefer to keep it but might be persuaded to let it go.
