Cooper S Works
Discussion
haven't drive it myself, although am very much enjoying driving around in our long term Cooper S this weekend.
We drove it back in March, and loved it. If you haven't seen the issue then try our back issues hotline on 01235 534323 and they should be able to help. The issue was published on the 19th March, and a pic of it is here...

I have ordered a Mini Cooper S and now trying to decide whether its worth spending £3500 on the Works kit. Most of the articles I have read have been very favourable so will probably go for it. I think the Autocar review referred to above is on the official Mini web site (mini.co.uk) under "Fun and Adventures" and "mini road tests". There is also lots of info and comment on the Works S on the unofficial mini site mini2.co.uk

I'm more than a bit sceptical about any power claims by John Cooper works, no doubt the conversion is well done, but on every rolling road shootout I've ever seen/read about the classic mini, the John cooper 90bhp conversion fall well short (15-20 bhp!!!) of the mark...
Of course the advantage of the JCW over say the Hartge is that it keeps the BMW warranty intact...
