HiLos & suspension stuff confusion
Discussion
Spax are spax wherever you go so find the best price. Calver mentioned in an article a while back that the red ones if you can get them are better in a way than the yellows, but this I suppose will add to the confusion. Huddersfield are probably the cheapest for straight yellows.
The hi-lows are all basically the same I believe just different adjustment methods depending on the manufacturer. If you are not going to adjust the height on an even semi regular basis shaving the trumpets will probably get you there quicker and cheaper.
New knuckles should really be done at the same time.
Considered coil overs?

All this lowering of the suspension! I always have to raise the ride height of my Minis, and even then the big sump guard hits the ground hard on bumpy stages.
Yellow SPAX are fine. I have just changed all mine after 22 rallies on the same set, and even then the old ones were not worn out and will do OK as spares.
Just shop around for the best deal.
Remember also, make sure you give each adjuster a turn both ways every time you service the car and to keep the adjusting screws covered with oil or copper grease to prevent their seizing up.
For best handling don't set them too hard or you lose adhesion on bumpy tarmac due to the wheels not staying in constant contact with the road. This may sound obvious, but for best grip on normal roads the suspension must be allowed to work properly. For this reason don't set the ride height too low.
